Are you a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering graduate looking for a hands-on role where you can develop your skills across design, installation, commissioning and technical support?

We’re working with an established engineering business specialising in complex industrial process equipment, and they’re looking for a Graduate Technical Engineer to join their Product & Project Engineering team in High Wycombe.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Technical Engineer who wants variety, responsibility and genuine hands-on engineering experience, rather than being stuck behind a desk.

The Role

As a Graduate Technical Engineer, you’ll become a key part of the engineering delivery team, supporting projects from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning and ongoing customer support.

Your role will include:

• Supporting the delivery of engineering projects across the UK.
• Attending customer sites to support installation, upgrades and commissioning.
• Working alongside Field Service Engineers on hands-on troubleshooting and fault finding.
• Providing technical support to customers and contractors by phone and on site.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schedules and specifications.
• Supporting the preparation of RAMS for non-standard equipment.
• Assisting with mechanical and electrical design requirements for projects and bids.
• Supporting the creation of I/O lists, load lists and commissioning estimates.
• Carrying out quality inspections on bespoke and non-standard equipment.
• Working closely with manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and improve equipment.
• Supporting product development, compliance and quality assurance.
• Delivering customer training on equipment following installation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a graduate who is practical, proactive and keen to develop their engineering career.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A solid understanding of fundamental mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• The ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive and organised approach to engineering projects.
• A willingness to travel to customer sites and get hands-on with equipment.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience isn’t essential for the Graduate Technical Engineer role, but exposure to any of the following would be beneficial:

• Previous engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Process equipment or industrial systems.
• Water treatment or similar industries.
• AutoCAD or other CAD packages.
• Control systems, PLCs or electrical panels.
