VEHICLE BUILD TECHNICIAN

Are you an experienced vehicle technician looking for something more specialist?

A growing automotive business is looking for a skilled Vehicle Build Technician to join its workshop team.

You’ll work on classic 4×4 vehicles, carrying out ground-up builds and restorations from initial strip-down through to final finish.

THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Build Technician, you’ll take ownership of individual vehicle builds and work alongside an experienced team.

Your work will include:

• Stripping and cataloguing donor vehicles
• Chassis, suspension & drivetrain builds
• Bodywork assembly following paint
• Installing pre-made wiring looms
• Fitting trim, lighting & other components
• Assessing and preparing components
• Planning and managing individual builds
• Keeping build records up to date
• Maintaining a clean, organised workshop

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal Vehicle Build Technician will have:

• Strong practical vehicle-mechanics knowledge
• High standards of workmanship
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage your own workload
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Experience working independently on mechanical projects
• Genuine interest in classic vehicles

Classic vehicle experience is advantageous but not essential.

Welding and fabrication skills would be beneficial.

A vehicle-mechanics or City & Guilds Automotive qualification is welcome but not essential.

Driving licence preferred.
