A brilliant electromechanical engineering business based in Byfleet is seeking a talented Buyer to join their friendly, high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day tactical purchasing and supply chain operations that support the production of cutting-edge engineered products.

About the Role:

As Buyer, you’ll support a variety of purchasing functions across production, new product introduction, and supplier management. You’ll be working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.

This role offers a broad scope with real impact – from placing purchase orders and managing ERP data to driving supplier performance, dual sourcing strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Raising and managing POs for production and non-production goods

• Working with suppliers to secure quality, on-time deliveries

• Managing ERP data for product, supplier, and cost information

• Supporting the introduction of new products and supplier qualification

• Assisting with supplier audits, quality inspection needs, and export documentation

• Mitigating supplier risks and cost increases

• Collaborating with engineering on part changes and sourcing alternatives

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in a purchasing/procurement or supply chain role, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of electro-mechanical parts, PCBs, machining, and fabricated components

• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and data management

• Proactive communicator with strong negotiation and supplier management skills

• Detail-oriented with a passion for quality and continuous improvement
