Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical design engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging products and wants genuine involvement across the full product development lifecycle.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical design projects, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop robust, innovative and manufacturable products.

Key responsibilities of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer include:

• Developing mechanical designs from concept through to manufacture.
• Producing detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Designing complex mechanical components and assemblies.
• Applying DFM/DFA principles to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
• Supporting prototyping, testing and design verification.
• Working with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design and production challenges.
• Contributing to design reviews and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

About You as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Proven experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.
• Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks.
• Experience designing complex mechanical products.
• Good knowledge of DFM/DFA, tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
• Experience taking designs through prototyping, testing and production.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of projects.
