We are partnering with a highly established and respected manufacturing business that specialises in the design and manufacture of complex, safety-critical systems used by customers worldwide.

Due to continued growth and investment in new product development, they are now looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their collaborative and forward-thinking engineering team.

This role would suit a “blue sky thinker” – someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges, bringing fresh ideas, and developing innovative engineering solutions.

The Role of a Mechanical Design Engineer:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of complex mechanical systems and assemblies, working closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and testing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD

• Supporting new product development from concept through to production

• Producing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation

• Carrying out engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design validation

• Collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are fit for manufacture

• Supporting prototype builds, testing, and product improvements

• Contributing new ideas and creative solutions to complex engineering challenges

About You as the Mechanical Design Engineer:

We are keen to speak with engineers who are curious, innovative, and naturally inclined to solve problems.

You will enjoy working in an environment where new ideas are encouraged, and engineers are empowered to challenge convention and improve designs.

Ideally you will have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or similar

• A minimum of 2 years’ mechanical design experience within a high regulatory engineering environment

• Experience using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.)

• Experience designing mechanisms, structures, or complex assemblies

• A strong understanding of design for manufacture and engineering standards

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative engineering mindset
